Antoninus Pius Bust Sculpt

This is a sculpt based off of an existing bust of Roman emperor, Antoninus Pius. He is known as being one of the Five Good Emperors in the Nerva–Antonine dynasty. The difficulties of this project came from the need to sculpt exact proportions and details of a particular person. If I changed something in the front view it would have an impact on the profile view and vise versa. It was difficult to make all angles of the bust look exactly like Antoninus.

I started off with a smooth bust base mesh. There were only slight hints of details like light eye shape lines. I edited the proportions in the beginning to resemble Antoninus more because I knew I wouldn’t get his detailed features right if the basic shape of him wasn’t accurate.
